Vaccines have reduced, and in some cases, eliminated, many diseases that routinely killed or harmed many infants, children, and adults. However, the viruses and bacteria that cause vaccine-preventable diseases and death still exist and can be passed on to people who are not protected by vaccines. Vaccine-preventable diseases have a costly impact, resulting in doctor's visits, hospitalizations, and premature deaths. To protect your health, and the health of the community, Southern Seven Health Department offers vaccinations for the following diseases:
Childhood and Adolescent Immunizations Southern Seven Health Department Provides vaccinations for children and adolescents through the Vaccines for Children Plus program. There is a $12.00 administration fee; however, the vaccine is free for children from birth through 18 years of age who:
The Recommended Childhood and Adolescent Immunization Schedule can be viewed at: http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/recs/schedules/child-schedule.htm Adult Immunizations Flu shots are recommended annually for adults 50 years of age or older, people of any age with underlying medical conditions, and health care workers. October through November is the optimal time to receive an annual flu shot to maximize protection. Fee - $20.00 Pneumonia vaccinations are recommended for adults 65 years of age or older and people with chronic illness or other risk factors. This is routinely a one-time dose. Fee - $30.00 Hepatitis B immunizations are recommended for adults who are at high-risk for infection. It is a series of 3 shots.
