CATCH onto Health!

Picture
Southern 7's CATCH on to Health! program is part of the Illinois CATCH on to Health Consortium.  This consortium is a collaborative partnership with SIU Center for Rural Health and Social Service Development, Southern Illinois Healthcare, Egyptian Health Department and Southern Seven Health Department.

The Illinois CATCH on to Health! Consortium (ICHC) promotes health and physical activity in schools to prevent and reduce childhood obesity in Pre-K through 8th grade.  All schools that implement CATCH will complete CDC's School Health Index, a health-focused assessment of the school.

The Coordinated Approach to Child Health (CATCH) program has demonstrated positive outcomes regarding the improvement of students’ academic performance as well as behavioral and physiological factors.

The CDC has a Healthy Schools website which provides a host of information and tools for teachers, parents, and students on school nutrition, physical activity, obesity prevention, management of chronic diseases in schools, and more! Click on the image below to be redirected to their site.
